VerifiedExcel@Uni administers bursary programmes for some of South Africa’s best-known corporate funders, and it also runs its own fund for students living with a disability. That fund is unusually complete: on top of fees, accommodation and allowances it pays an assistive stipend and provides tutoring, mentorship and psychosocial support.
About the Excel@Uni Disability Bursary
- Covers tuition fees, textbooks, accommodation, food and monthly allowances.
- Adds psychosocial support, mentorship, a work readiness programme, tutoring and a disability-specific assistive stipend.
- Fields: any SAQA-approved qualification at NQF level 7 or higher, including diplomas, degrees and master’s programmes.
Eligibility requirements
- South African student living with a disability.
- Able to prove the disability with a Department of Labour EEA1 form and a medical diagnosis letter.
- Studying, or accepted, at an accredited institution for a qualification at NQF level 7 or higher.
- A sound academic record and demonstrated financial need.
How to apply
- Open the bursary application on excelatuni.com when the round opens.
- Upload a certified ID and Matric certificate, your EEA1 form and doctor’s diagnosis letter, academic transcripts and university fee statements, your parents’ or guardians’ income documents and proof of current tertiary registration.
- Submit before midday on the closing date. Chat support is available on the application portal.
Closing date
13 June at 12:00 in the last confirmed round. Confirm the 2027 date with Excel@Uni.
