The FEDISA Fashion School Bursary supports South African students who wish to pursue tertiary qualifications in fashion, design, merchandising or media at the FEDISA campuses in Cape Town or Sandton.

Fields of Study Covered
The bursary is available for two undergraduate programmes at FEDISA:
- The Diploma in Fashion Merchandising, Marketing & Media (NQF Level 6) at either campus.
- The Bachelor of Arts in Fashion (NQF Level 7) at either campus.
These qualifications cover design, business, marketing, and media aspects of the fashion industry.
FEDISA Fashion School Bursary Eligibility Requirements
To apply for the 2026 bursary, applicants must meet:
- Be a South African citizen and resident.
- Have completed Matric (Grade 12) or be currently in Matric.
- Achieve (or be on track to achieve) a Bachelor’s pass or a Diploma pass in Matric.
- Be passionate about a career in fashion (for example, fashion designer, stylist, buyer, or editor).
- Meet FEDISA’s entrance criteria for the selected programme (Diploma or BA) and be fluent in English (as courses are offered in English).
What the FEDISA Fashion School Bursary Covers
The bursary is described as a part-bursary valued at R 50,000 each for two winners (one at Cape Town campus, one at the Sandton campus) for the 2026 academic year.
It covers part of the tuition fees only. Applicants remain responsible for registration fees, books, consumables, kits, transport, accommodation, and living costs.
FEDISA Fashion School Bursary Application Process
The 2026 bursary programme (called the “Future Vision” bursary) requires applicants to:
- Complete the online application via FEDISA’s website.
- Create and submit a runway look: using any materials or used garments to style a model from head to toe (hair, makeup, hat, shoes), submit photos (front, back, side, close-ups), and proof of expenses (budget not to exceed R500).
- Attach certified copies of required documents: ID, Matric certificate or latest results if still in Matric, receipts and breakdown of costs used for runway look, motivational letter (max 500 words) explaining why the applicant wants the bursary and what inspired their look.
Applications must be submitted by the closing date (see next heading).
