To qualify for the Ingquza Hill Local Municipality Bursary for 2026, applicants must meet a strict set of criteria focused on both residence and financial need.

1. You must be a South African citizen.
2. You must be a permanent resident within the Ingquza Hill Local Municipality area in the Eastern Cape.
3. You must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years old.
4. You must have successfully completed your Matric (Grade 12).
5. You must be studying or planning to study towards an undergraduate qualification in one of the priority fields listed above in 2026.
6. You must have been accepted or provisionally accepted to study at a recognised public university in South Africa.
7. You must demonstrate academic excellence and meet the minimum entry requirements of your chosen university.
8. You must be in financial need, with a total gross household income that does not exceed R350,000 per annum.

Ingquza Hill Local Municipality Bursary Application process

The Ingquza Hill Local Municipality Bursary requires a manual application via post. 

There is generally no formal application form to complete. 

You must submit all the required supporting documents to the Municipal offices.

1. Collect all the necessary supporting documentation, ensuring that all copies are certified.
2. The required documents include a certified copy of your valid South African ID document.
3. You must provide a certified copy of your full Matric certificate.
4. Include your most recent academic transcripts if you are currently studying at a tertiary institution.
5. You must attach proof of acceptance or provisional acceptance from a recognised university, which must be on the institution’s official letterhead.
6. Provide detailed proof of residence to confirm you live within the Ingquza Hill Local Municipality area.
7. Submit detailed proof of your total household income, which must not exceed R350,000 per year.
   • This includes the latest payslips for employed parents or guardians.
   • If unemployed, an official affidavit is required.
   • Certified proof of SASSA grants must be included if applicable.
8. A quotation of the university’s fee structure is necessary. This must detail tuition fees, accommodation costs, and prescribed textbook amounts.
