What BursariesAfrica could confirm

BursariesAfrica could not find a current Standard Bank bursary call on standardbank.co.za when researching this profile on 15 September 2026, and both of our Standard Bank pages describe earlier rounds that have not yet been refreshed for 2027. A provider record checked in August 2026 states that Standard Bank has run its bursary programme through StudyTrust, the non-profit bursary administrator, and treats the programme as a pipeline into its graduate roles.

Readers should treat the pages below as background rather than as confirmation that Standard Bank will offer bursaries for 2027.

Do not confuse a bursary with a Standard Bank student loan

Standard Bank’s website prominently advertises student loans, and students sometimes mistake these for bursaries. A Standard Bank student loan must be repaid. Standard Bank lets applicants get a quote before applying, and depending on the situation, a student can apply alone or with a person who guarantees repayment. Standard Bank’s student loan form covers diplomas and certificates, bachelor’s and honours degrees, master’s and doctoral degrees, and flight school. When BursariesAfrica checked, Standard Bank had closed applications for its loan offering without surety.

How to research Standard Bank bursaries yourself

Start with StudyTrust’s website, because StudyTrust lists the bursaries it administers for corporate funders during its annual application season. Then check the careers section of standardbank.com for graduate programmes, which often mention bursary routes. Ask your university’s financial aid office whether any current students hold Standard Bank bursaries.

If you find an advert, confirm it on a Standard Bank or StudyTrust website, and never pay a fee or share banking PINs to apply.

Students who cannot find a Standard Bank bursary should not take out a loan by default. Compare bursaries, NSFAS and loans carefully, because a bursary does not have to be repaid while a loan adds debt that follows you after graduation.
