SAFRIPOL makes plastics at its plant in south Durban. Its community bursary gives young people from the neighbouring Wentworth, Jacobs and Bluff areas a funded route into engineering.

Eligibility requirements

  • South African citizen living in Wentworth, Jacobs or the Bluff.
  • In Matric or studying at an accredited tertiary institution.
  • Studying or planning to study a listed engineering field.
  • Good results in Mathematics and Physical Science.

How to apply

  1. From mid-November, request the form from bursarydurban@safripol.com or collect it from participating local schools.
  2. Complete it and attach your ID, results and proof of residence.
  3. Email everything back before the closing date.

Closing date

31 January 2026 for the 2026 round. The 2027 dates are not yet published.
