1. Agriculture
2. Horticulture
3. Food Science and Technology
4. Business Management
5. Marketing

The bursary covers tuition fees, accommodation costs, and a monthly stipend for living expenses.

SAMAC Bursary Application Form

The application process for the SAMAC Bursary is straightforward and can be completed online through the SAMAC website. Here’s what you need to know:

1. Application Period: The bursary typically opens for applications in January and closes in March of each year. Ensure you check the official SAMAC website for the precise dates for the current year.
2. Application Requirements: You’ll need to submit the following documents along with your online application:
   • Certified copies of your ID document and matric certificate.
   • Proof of registration at a recognized South African tertiary institution.
   • Academic transcripts for all completed tertiary studies.
   • A motivational letter explaining your interest in the macadamia industry and your career aspirations.
   • Proof of financial need, such as parents’/guardians’ income statements.
3. Submission Method: Complete the online application form on the SAMAC website and upload the required documents in PDF format. Ensure all documents are clearly labeled and meet the specified file size limitations.

The SAMAC Bursary Requirements

To be eligible for the SAMAC Bursary, you must meet the following criteria:

1. Be a South African citizen or permanent resident.
2. Be enrolled in or applying for a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a field related to the macadamia industry.
3. Demonstrate academic excellence, with a minimum GPA of 70% for undergraduate studies and 75% for postgraduate studies.

5. Demonstrate financial need and be unable to afford the full cost of your studies without the bursary.

The deadline for submitting your application for the SAMAC Bursary is usually 15 December each year.
