How to Check Your SASSA SRD R370 Status, Including Pending and Payment Dates

Many South Africans check their SASSA SRD status each month. Whether you are a new applicant or a returning beneficiary, it helps to know how to check and what the statuses mean. The grant now pays R370 and runs to 31 March 2027.

How to Check Your SASSA SRD Status

To check your SRD status, follow these simple steps:

1. Visit the official SASSA SRD website at https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/status
2. Enter your South African ID number and the cellphone number you used when applying
3. Click Submit to see your status for the month you selected

What the Different SRD Statuses Mean

Approved
Your application has been approved for July. A payment date should appear under your status. If not, your payment is being processed.

Pending
Your application for July is still under review. No action is required. Keep checking back for updates.

Declined
Your application was not successful. You can submit an appeal on the SRD website.

Bank Details Pending
You need to update your banking details before SASSA can issue payment.

Cancelled
Your application was withdrawn or cancelled. You may reapply if you still meet the qualifying criteria.

SASSA SRD R370 Payment Dates

SASSA pays the SRD later in the month than other grants, in batches: for October 2026, from 26 to 30 October. Check the SRD site for your own date.

If you are approved but do not see a payment date, it means your payment is still being processed.

Bank payments may take two to three working days to reflect in your account after the payment is released.

What to Do If Your Status Shows Pending?

A pending status simply means SASSA is still verifying your details. You do not need to reapply.
Continue to check the SRD status page every few days for updates.
Ensure your banking details are correct to avoid delays when your payment is approved.

Who Qualifies for the SRD R370 Grant?

To qualify for the SRD R370 grant in any month, you must:

Be between the ages of 18 and 59
Be unemployed
Not receive any other social grant, UIF or NSFAS
Be a South African citizen, permanent resident or recognised refugee
