How long to prepare
- One or two subjects: plan for several months of study before the exams.
- Several subjects: consider a full cycle with structured support.
- Use free DBE Second Chance materials and classes where available.
Speeding things up
- Register as soon as the window opens.
- Choose the sitting that fits your study time, not just the nearest one.
- Check the subject is available at that sitting; Senior Certificate candidates can only take selected subjects.
See the DBE’s Senior Certificate page and how many times you can rewrite.
