Check Your Personalized Bursary Options

Tell us if you want bursaries, scholarships, admissions, or student loans?

This system displays whether your application was received, is under review, requires documents, has a conditional offer, or has been accepted.

You can check your status using the official CUT Application Status Page which links to the login and tracking interface.

This page lets you enter your identification details such as your South African ID number, passport number, or student number to view your application status online.

Applications for the 2027 academic year generally open in April/May and close around 30 September of the year before, so tracking your status after submission is important.

How to Check Your CUT Application Status

You can view your CUT application status through the official application status tracking page on the university website.

Follow the steps below to check your admission progress for 2027.

  1. Visit the CUT Application Status Tracker on the official site.
  2. Enter your South African ID number, passport number, or student number exactly as used in your application.
  3. If the site asks for additional verification details such as your full surname or initials, enter them exactly as provided during application.
  4. Click the Submit or Check button.
  5. The system will load your application status and show the current stage of your admission process.

You do not normally need a separate portal login or password for this initial status check, as it uses your identifiable information to locate your application in the database.

Once you are admitted and have received your student number, you may then log into the official CUT Student Portal for further academic administration and, if necessary, view your status under your profile.

What Your Status Means

CUT application status updates use both descriptive labels and status codes to indicate where your application is in the process.

Below are the most common statuses and what they mean:

  1. AR – Application Received
This means your application has been uploaded to CUT’s system and is waiting to be reviewed.
  2. DU – Outstanding Documents Uploaded
This means you have uploaded the required documents and the university is attending to your application.
  3. N – No decision taken – New students
This means the admissions team has not yet made a final decision.
  4. Q – Provisional acceptance
This signifies that you meet initial requirements but must satisfy conditions such as final matric results.
  5. W – Waitlisted
This means you meet entry requirements but placement depends on space availability or further selection.
  6. G – Admission offer (new students)
This status confirms that you have been offered a place in a programme.
  7. X – Unsuccessful
This means your application did not meet admission requirements or the programme is full.

Status codes help you understand what stage your application is at and whether any action is required from you.

Troubleshooting Common Login Issues

Some applicants may experience problems when trying to check their status. Here are common issues and solutions.

Incorrect identification details
Make sure your ID, passport number, or student number is entered exactly as it was used in your online application. Any mismatch will prevent the system from finding your record.

Application not yet in the system
It can take a few days after submission for your application to appear in the CUT status tracker. If no result appears, check again later.

Portal not loading or busy
High traffic during peak application periods may slow down the status page or cause temporary unavailability. Try refreshing the page or checking at a quieter time.

No status found
If the status page says “no result” even after repeated checks, confirm your details and then contact CUT Enrolment Services for verification and help.

Need more help
If you still cannot view your application status or need clarification, contact CUT admissions.

  • Phone: +27 51 507 3744 / 3021 / 3028 / 3026 / 3014 (Enrolment Services).

The university admissions staff can assist with tracking your application and resolving login or verification issues.
