Durban University of Technology (DUT) Late Applications Link 2027

The Durban University of Technology (DUT) is one of South Africa’s largest universities of technology. 

It offers diplomas, degrees, and postgraduate programmes across several faculties. 

Prospective first-year students apply to DUT for the 2027 academic year through the Central Applications Office (CAO). 

Many applicants want to know if they missed the closing date, whether they can still apply and where to find the late applications link.

What is the official closing date for DUT 2027 applications?

DUT closes most 2027 applications through CAO on 30 September 2026, and some programmes, such as Diagnostic Radiography (31 August 2026), close earlier. 

All undergraduate and most postgraduate applications had to be submitted via the CAO before this date. 

Different programmes may have had earlier internal closing dates, so it was important for applicants to check specific course requirements on DUT’s admissions pages or on the CAO site.

Can I submit a late application to DUT for 2027?

For most undergraduate programmes, DUT does not accept late applications after the official closing date. 

The university states that if the application period has ended, no late online submissions or walk-in applications will be accepted for the year concerned. 

DUT has not announced late applications for 2027. For the 2026 intake, DUT did open late applications for selected programmes that still had space, and it announced them on dut.ac.za.

Where is the DUT online application link for 2027?

All undergraduate applications for DUT must be made through the Central Applications Office (CAO) portal. 

The CAO is the central system that processes undergraduate applications for South African public universities, including DUT. The official CAO application link is: https://www.cao.ac.za

You should create an account, complete your details, upload the required certified documents, and pay the application fee via the CAO before the deadline.

Is there a late applications link for DUT 2027?

There is no separate late applications link hosted by DUT for undergraduate programmes once the main application deadline has passed. 

The DUT site previously had a Late Enquiries for a Programme Form, but that form is no longer active, and late enquiries are now closed.

What if I missed applying to DUT on time?

If you miss the DUT application deadline, you cannot submit a regular undergraduate application for 2027 unless DUT announces late places. Otherwise, prepare for the next cycle. 

As an alternative, register with the Central Application Service (CAS), which replaced the Central Applications Clearing House (CACH) from the 2026 academic year.

Can postgraduate students apply late for DUT 2027?

Postgraduate applications, such as for Honours, Master’s and Doctoral programmes, are not processed through the CAO at DUT. 

You must apply directly to the relevant faculty or department. 

In some cases, postgraduate application deadlines may be more flexible and occur later than undergraduate deadlines. 

You should consult the specific department’s admissions information on the DUT official website for exact closing dates and late intake opportunities.

Are there exceptions for certain programmes?

Some specific programmes might have different internal deadlines set by DUT or industry accreditation requirements. 

For example, some professional or highly competitive programmes might close earlier or require additional steps. 

Always check the programme’s CAO code details before applying. 

However, the general policy remains that once the CAO deadline is passed, late undergraduate applications are not processed.
