Does CPUT accept late applications for 2027?

CPUT has not yet announced a late application window for 2027. For the 2026 intake, CPUT reopened applications for a short period for programmes that still had space. 

This is not a general guaranteed extension but a limited late application window.

Admissions guidance at the time placed that 2026 late window from 3 to 14 November 2025. If CPUT repeats it for 2027, it will publish the dates on cput.ac.za, probably after the 30 September 2026 closing date.

A few key points about CPUT’s late application process:

1. Only programmes with remaining capacity can accept late applications.
2. Late applicants must submit their application and pay a non-refundable late application fee (about R150) within the late window.
3. A programme that is already full will not accept late applications, even within the late application period.
4. Some faculties, for example the Faculty of Education, may not accept any late applications at all.
5. Research Master’s and Doctoral programmes have later deadlines than the undergraduate cycle, which gives postgraduate researchers a separate opportunity.

Because CPUT does not publish a dedicated separate late portal, applicants use the same official online application system used for the main application period whenever the late application window is active.

To apply for admission to CPUT:

1. Visit www.cput.ac.za and go to the Apply page.

5. Select up to three programme choices per application.

What if I missed the closing date?

If you miss the 30 September 2026 closing date:

1. You will not be able to submit a regular application for 2027 unless CPUT announces a late period.
2. Check the CPUT website for any late window for programmes with space, and ask the relevant faculty whether research degrees still accept applications.
3. Prepare to apply early for 2028. CPUT opened its 2027 applications in May 2026.
4. Consider applying to other institutions that have ongoing or rolling late app windows.
