UNIVEN charges a non-refundable application fee for processing applications, followed by a registration fee and a minimum initial payment toward your tuition and other charges before you can complete online registration.

Tuition fees vary by programme and faculty, and policies around payment deadlines and NSFAS funding affect how and when fees must be paid.

UNIVEN Application Fee 2027 (Non-refundable)

To apply to study at UNIVEN, all applicants must submit their application online through the official UNIVEN Application Portal

The application process requires personal documentation and payment of a non-refundable application fee.

For South African applicants, the application fee is R100, which must be paid before your application can be processed.

This is a one-time fee that does not get refunded even if your application is not successful.

International applicants normally pay a higher application fee, usually in the range of R200–R500, due to additional processing requirements.

You should confirm the exact international fee amount on the university’s portal or prospectus for 2027 when it’s published.

Keep proof of payment for your records as it may be required if you need to follow up on your application status.

UNIVEN Registration Fee 2027 (Initial Payment)

Once UNIVEN offers you admission, you must complete a registration process which includes paying a minimum initial payment before you can register for your modules.

The initial payment covers part of your tuition and includes the registration fee and levies that the university allocates at the start of the academic year.

Official fee guides show that the minimum amount required for registration for self-funding students is around R5 000 (this includes tuition deposit, registration fee, and student levies), excluding residence deposits.

This amount must be paid before registration can be finalised.

If you are successful in securing on-campus residence, you will be required to pay a residence fee deposit in addition to the registration fees.

The residence deposit is separate and must be paid before room allocation.

Students with outstanding debts from previous academic years must settle all arrears in full before they can register for the new year.

UNIVEN will block registration if these debts are not cleared.

UNIVEN Tuition Fee Structure per Faculty

UNIVEN does not publish a single flat tuition fee for all students.

Instead, tuition fees are set based on your faculty, level of study, and number of modules you register for in the academic year.

Costs differ between undergraduate, postgraduate, and honours programmes, and they can also vary if you are an international student due to additional levies.

Tuition estimates for undergraduate programmes often range approximately between R22 000 and R45 000 per year, depending on the faculty and credits taken.

Faculties at UNIVEN include:

  1. Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Education
  2. Faculty of Management, Commerce and Law
  3. Faculty of Science, Engineering and Agriculture
  4. Faculty of Health Sciences

These annual figures are estimates and can vary year to year.

For 2027 tuition amounts, you must consult the official Fees Booklet Calendar for the year when available on the UNIVEN Study Fees page.

How to Pay Your UNIVEN Fees (Bank Details)

To pay your application, registration, and tuition fees at UNIVEN, you must use the official banking details provided by the university.

When making any payment, always use your student number or application reference number as the payment reference so the funds are correctly allocated to your account.

Payment methods can include electronic funds transfer (EFT), direct bank deposit, online card payments, or nominated payment options through the university’s fee interface.

UNIVEN Fees for NSFAS Funded Students

If you qualify for funding from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS), NSFAS can cover your registration and tuition fees directly with UNIVEN once your funding status is confirmed before the registration deadline.

UNIVEN’s official fee policies state that students with confirmed NSFAS or other bursary funding do not have to pay the minimum initial payment required at registration, provided the funding is approved in time.

To benefit from NSFAS coverage, you must ensure your funding is finalised early, and provide the university with required proof of funding.

If NSFAS or other bursary confirmation is not provided by registration day, you may still have to pay the minimum initial payment out of pocket to complete your registration.
