Vaal University of Technology Application Fee 2027 (Non-refundable)

When applying to study at VUT for the 2027 academic year, all applicants must pay a non-refundable application fee before their application will be processed.

The standard application fee charged by VUT is approximately R110 for South African applicants and may differ slightly for international applicants.

The exact amount and payment requirements will be confirmed on the official VUT How to Apply portal.

To pay the application fee, log in to the online application system and follow the payment instructions provided, ensuring that your reference number (identity number for nationals or passport number for international students) is included with the bank deposit or electronic funds transfer.

Vaal University of Technology Registration Fee 2027 (Initial Payment)

Once an applicant has received an offer of admission, the next step is to register for classes.

At VUT, there is an initial registration fee that must be paid before final registration is completed.

According to the latest registration information for the 2026 academic year (which provides a guide for 2027), the national student registration fee is R2 500.

International students are generally required to pay the full annual tuition fee upfront as their registration fee.

NSFAS-funded students who have confirmed funding may not need to pay this registration fee, as NSFAS will cover these costs directly once funding is approved.

Vaal University of Technology Fees for NSFAS Funded Students

If a student qualifies for funding from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS), NSFAS will cover the approved tuition fees and the registration fee according to the scheme’s terms.

Students must ensure that their NSFAS application is successfully submitted via the official portal and that they communicate with VUT’s financial aid office to confirm their funding status.

NSFAS will not cover all fees automatically; students should check which charges are covered and whether any portion of fees must be paid upfront before NSFAS disbursement.

Once NSFAS is confirmed, VUT will apply the funding to the student account, reducing or eliminating the amount the student needs to pay directly for tuition and registration.
