AMSOL Bursary 2026 – Marine Engineering, Nautical Science & Deck Officer Training

About the Organisation

African Marine Solutions (AMSOL) is a leading South African marine services provider, offering solutions for energy, ports, shipping, offshore mining, and environmental sectors. 

The company is employee- and management-owned and aims to support local talent in maritime disciplines.

Fields of Study Funded

This bursary is open to full‑time students or graduates pursuing the following SAMSA‑accredited qualifications in 2026:

  • Bachelor of Marine Engineering
  • Bachelor of Nautical Science
  • Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch (Deck Officer) training

Benefits for Recipients

Recipients will receive:

  • Tuition fee coverage (mandatory at a minimum)
  • Potential assistance with textbooks and residence accommodation, depending on financial need and funding availability
  • No support for registration fees—students are responsible for those costs
    AMSOL may require graduates to serve employment, based on operational needs, but this is at the company’s discretion.

Eligibility Criteria 

You must meet all of the following:

  • South African citizen
  • Completed Matric or currently in Matric
  • Achieved at least 60 % (Level 5) in English, Mathematics, and Physical Science
  • Intend to study one of the eligible qualifications in 2026 at a recognized South African university or SAMSA-accredited training provider
  • Not currently funded by another bursary or scholarship for the 2026 academic year (must be unbonded)

Applications failing any condition will not be considered.

There is no online application form—only document submission is required.

Required Documents

Attach clear, certified copies of:

  • South African ID document
  • Matric certificate or latest Grade 11/Matric results
  • Academic transcripts if already at tertiary level
  • Proof of application/acceptance at a recognized institution or SAMSA‐accredited training centre for 2026
  • Curriculum vitae with contactable references
  • Motivational letter detailing why you should receive the bursary

Incomplete or uncertified documents may lead to application rejection.

The 2026 closing date has not yet been officially announced, though past cycles typically ended on 30 September. 

Only applications submitted before the confirmed deadline will be accepted.
