BANKSETA's advert of 9 July 2026 gave an application window of 6 July to 6 August 2026; the intake is closed and no new round has been announced.
BANKSETA, the Banking Sector Education and Training Authority, ran a recruitment drive in July and August 2026 for young people with disabilities to join a funded skills development programme in two tracks: Technopreneur and Cybersecurity Defender. The training provider named on the advert is Masithuthuke Holdings, a Sandton-based skills development company, and the advert states that a stipend is included.
BANKSETA posted the call on its news page on 9 July 2026. The advert gives the application window as 6 July to 6 August 2026, so this intake is now closed.
Four requirements on the 2026 advert
- aged between 18 and 35;
- a Matric certificate;
- a South African ID;
- a confirmation letter or other proof of disability.
The advert limited the intake to five provinces: Limpopo, the Free State, the Eastern Cape, Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal. Gauteng, the Western Cape, the Northern Cape and North West were not on the list.
Applications went by email to Masithuthuke Holdings
BANKSETA did not use an online form for this round. The advert told applicants to email their applications to admin@masithuthukeholdings.co.za or Julia@masithuthukeholdings.co.za. Enquiries went to Trust@masithuthukeholdings.co.za, 010 035 0040, or WhatsApp on 071 783 2659. BANKSETA’s own switchboard is +27 11 805 9661 and its general address is info@bankseta.org.za.
What BANKSETA has not published
The announcement consists of a single advert image. It does not give the stipend amount, the length of the programme, the qualification or NQF level learners work towards, where classes take place, or how many places are available. Neither BANKSETA’s website nor Masithuthuke Holdings’ website carries a separate programme page with those details. Anyone who applied and is waiting for an outcome should contact Masithuthuke Holdings directly on the numbers above.
BANKSETA’s earlier ICT programme for youth with disabilities
This is not BANKSETA’s first digital skills intake for people with disabilities. In July 2024 the SETA reported on its Advanced ICT Skills Programme, which trained 350 young people with physical, neurological and other disabilities in Gauteng, Limpopo, the Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, the Eastern Cape and Mpumalanga. That programme, delivered with Village Technologies, covered programming and cybersecurity along with work-readiness and entrepreneurship training. Learners received laptops for the course and kept them after completing it. Certificates were handed over in Polokwane and Sasolburg in February 2024. BANKSETA has not said whether the 2026 programme follows the same model.
BANKSETA advertises its other youth intakes on its website, in newspapers and on Facebook, and its learnership criteria accept applicants with a disability who provide a medical certificate. The Kuyasa learnership is one of those intakes, and the BANKSETA profile lists its other programmes. Students with disabilities heading to university can also look at the Excel@Uni disability bursary.
