Fields of Study Funded

  • Engineering: Chemical, Industrial, Mining, Mechanical, Metallurgical, Biomedical
  • Sciences: Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Pharmacy, Agriculture

Benefits for Recipients

  • Covers tuition fees, accredited accommodation, textbook allowance, laptop allowance (for first year), and meal allowance
  • Includes a Career & Work Readiness Programme, structured mentorship, vacation work opportunities, wellness support, and company-branded merchandise

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a South African citizen studying or planning to study full-time at a recognised institution (university or university of technology)
  • Must have a strong academic record with a minimum average of 65 %
  • Must demonstrate financial need and alignment with BASF’s industry-aligned disciplines

  1. Certified ID copy
  2. Academic transcripts or latest results, including proof of enrollment or acceptance
  3. Motivational letter detailing your career goals, alignment with BASF’s mission, and why you deserve support
  4. Proof of financial need (e.g., household income documents)

The deadline for the 2025 cycle was 31 January 2025

You must apply before the 2026 deadline (likely similar, e.g., end of January) to be considered. Late submissions will not be accepted.
