Fluor Bursary Requirements, Application and Closing Dates

Fluor South Africa (Pty) Ltd is part of the global engineering & construction company Fluor Corporation, operating in South Africa for over 60 years.

The Fluor Bursary is designed to support South African students who intend to study engineering disciplines, aligning with Fluor’s business focus and aim to build local skills.

Eligibility requirements for the Fluor Bursary

To be eligible, you must meet these criteria:

  1. Be a South African citizen.
  2. Intend to study or already studying one of the approved engineering fields: Architectural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Control Systems & Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering.
  3. Be enrolled or intend to enrol at a recognised and accredited South African university for full-time study
  4. Demonstrate a strong academic record.
  5. Demonstrate financial need
  6. Be willing to pursue an engineering career at Fluor South Africa.

Application process for the Fluor Bursary

Here’s how to apply:

  1. Prepare certified copies of required documents, including: the most recent academic results (Matric or tertiary level) ; a provisional acceptance letter from the university (if not yet registered); your CV; and a motivational letter explaining your field choice and commitment.
  2. Submit your application via email to the contact person: Henny Moraka at Fluor (email: [email protected]) with the subject line “BURSARY”.
  3. Shortlisted candidates may be contacted by a certain date. For example, past cycles noted feedback by 22 April.

Closing date for the Fluor Bursary

For earlier cycles, the closing date was 8 April (for the 2022/2023 cycle).

For the 2026 cycle, a deadline has not been officially confirmed by Fluor.
