Learners who wrote their matric exams in November 2023 received their results in January. However, they still need their official matric certificates.
The good news is that these certificates are now ready for collection.
The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has announced that learners can collect their certificates from their schools from 3 June 2024.
Learners should contact their schools directly to find out when and how they can collect their certificates. Some schools may have designated collection days or require appointments to make the process smoother.
The DBE encourages learners to collect their certificates as soon as possible. These documents are crucial for further education applications, job seeking, and other official purposes.
Learners received a statement of results in January, which can be used for job applications and further education opportunities. However, this is different from their official NSC certificate.
Umalusi issues the final certificate after the re-marking and re-checking processes are completed to ensure accuracy; it usually happens around May of the following year but can be as late as September. The official Umalusi certificate serves as the permanent record of your NSC qualification.
