Natasha Joubert, Miss South Africa 2023, made education the focus of her reign and launched the Natasha Joubert Collective to raise bursaries for young South Africans. In April 2024 the Collective partnered with ASUS and the coding school HyperionDev to fund ten places on a full-stack web development bootcamp for aspiring coders.

About the Natasha Joubert Collective x ASUS Coding Bursary

Ten fully sponsored places on HyperionDev’s six-month, part-time, online Full Stack Web Developer Bootcamp.
A certificate on completion and access to HyperionDev’s 90-day graduate programme.
Career preparation tools and workplace skills training.

Eligibility requirements in the 2024 round

South African resident aged 18 or older.
Access to a laptop or computer and internet for remote study, or able to attend HyperionDev’s centres in Cape Town or Johannesburg.
No prior coding experience required, but a clear motivation to build a career in technology.
Acceptance of the competition terms and conditions.

How applications were made

Applicants completed an online form and registered on HyperionDev’s database. The form required a motivation letter explaining why the applicant deserved the bursary, their personal background and their motivation to complete the programme. Winners were announced on 30 April 2024.

Closing date

The only round closed on 19 April 2024. No 2027 closing date exists.

No new round has been announced. The bursary ran once, in April 2024, during Natasha Joubert's reign as Miss South Africa 2023. Her reign ended in August 2024, and neither the Natasha Joubert Collective nor ASUS has advertised a further round. Watch misssa.co.za and the Collective's social media for any relaunch.

Natasha Joubert’s reign ended in August 2024 and no further round has been advertised by the Collective, ASUS or HyperionDev. There is no 2027 application.
