What the municipality publishes
Bushbuckridge Local Municipality’s website shows a municipality working through its planning and reporting cycle. The municipality published its fourth-quarter performance report for 2025-26, performance agreements for senior managers for 2026-27, its final integrated development plan, budget and tariffs for 2026/27, and a process plan for the 2027/28 plan and budget.
Development in the area is visible too. Mpumalanga Premier Mandla Ndlovu handed over the newly built Godide High School on 15 October 2025, one of the education projects the municipality highlights.
Bursary and internships
Bushbuckridge Local Municipality publishes its bursary application form in December and closes applications in late January. The 2024 round closed on 26 January 2024, and earlier rounds followed a similar pattern, so residents should expect the form for 2027 study in December 2026.
The municipality’s website also points residents to information about educational funding opportunities, and its careers page advertises internships for graduates, including internships for Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurship graduates and civil engineering graduates. A student who receives a Bushbuckridge bursary could later look for an internship at the same municipality.
How residents can research and prepare
Collect the bursary form from the municipality’s offices or website when it appears in December, and prepare proof of residence, which in villages usually means a letter from a ward councillor or traditional authority. Those letters can take time over the holidays, so request one early.
Read the municipality’s integrated development plan to see which services and projects Bushbuckridge prioritises. Linking your field of study, such as civil engineering, finance or agriculture, to those priorities strengthens a motivation letter.
Email the municipality to ask whether the bursary accepts TVET college students, whether it covers full costs or tuition only, and whether bursars must work for the municipality afterwards.
Bushbuckridge’s position beside the Kruger National Park also gives tourism and conservation-related studies local relevance, which residents can raise when asking which fields the bursary supports.
