If SASSA pays into your bank account
Use your bank’s app, online banking, ATM or branch. Grant payments appear on your normal bank statement with SASSA as the reference.
What a statement shows
- Each grant payment and its date
- Withdrawals and purchases made with the card
- Any fees charged by an ATM or store
- Your balance after each transaction
When you need an official SASSA letter instead
For proof that you receive a grant, for example to show a school, landlord or court, ask SASSA for a grant confirmation letter at a SASSA office or call 0800 60 10 11. A bank or Postbank statement shows payments, but it is not a SASSA letter.
Spotting problems
- A missing payment: check the payment date for your grant first, then contact SASSA.
- Transactions you did not make: call Postbank on 0800 53 54 55 and block the card immediately.
