Unlike the older persons, disability and child grants, the SRD grant has no fixed payment day for everyone. SASSA approves SRD applications month by month and pays approved people in batches, usually in the last week or two of the month. Your own date is shown only on your status.
Finding your pay date
- Go to srd.sassa.gov.za.
- Open the application status section.
- Type in your ID number and the cellphone number linked to your application.
- Look at the month you want. An approved month shows a pay date once one has been set.
You can also send “Status” on WhatsApp to 082 046 8553, or call 0800 60 10 11.
Reading what you see
| What your status shows | What it means for payment |
|---|---|
| Approved, with a date | Your money is paid from that date. Bank payments can take a day or two to reflect. |
| Approved, no date yet | Payment has not been scheduled yet. Check again after a few days. |
| Pending | SASSA has not finished assessing that month, so there is no date yet. |
| Declined | No payment for that month. You can appeal within 90 days. |
| Bank details pending | Approved, but SASSA cannot pay you until you add valid banking details. |
Why your date can differ from a neighbour’s
Payments go out in batches, and SASSA does not publish an order. Two people approved for the same month can be paid on different days, so comparing dates with friends is not a reliable guide.
Dates for the other grants are in our 2026/27 payment calendar.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a fixed SRD payment date each month?
No. SRD payments are made in batches after approval, usually late in the month. Your personal date appears on your status.
My SRD is approved but there is no pay date. What now?
Wait a few days and check again. If weeks pass, confirm your banking details are correct and call SASSA on 0800 60 10 11.
