Shoprite Bursary Programmes
- Accounting (CA Stream – SAICA) (10 bursaries available)
- Biological and Agricultural Sciences (10 bursaries available)
- Criminology (3 bursaries available)
- Data Science (10 bursaries available)
- Food Science (10 bursaries available)
- Information Technology/Systems (10 bursaries available)
- Retail Business Management (60 bursaries available)
- Supply Chain & Logistics (10 bursaries available)
These bursaries cover tuition fees, books, and accommodation allowances, with values ranging from R30,000 to R60,000. The amount depends on your field of study and the institution you attend.
Once you graduate, you’ll need to work for Shoprite. For each year you received funding, you’ll owe them one year of employment.
Here’s how it works in different fields:
- Accounting (CA Stream – SAICA) Bursary: You can join Shoprite’s Finance team or participate in the Accounting Articles Programme.
- Biological and Agricultural Sciences Bursary: You’ll join the Fresh Foods/Freshmark team after finishing your studies.
- Criminology Bursary: Graduates become Data & Crime Analysts in the Security & Loss Prevention Department.
- Data Science Bursary: You’ll join the Shoprite Data Science Academy to specialize in data science.
- Food Science Bursary: After graduation, you can work with the Fresh Foods/Freshmark team.
- Information Technology/Systems Bursary: You’ll join the Shoprite Group or the SAP Academy, specializing in System Analysis.
- Retail Business Management Bursary: A chance to work in Retail Management, the heart of Africa’s largest retailer.
- Supply Chain & Logistics Bursary: Future Logistics and Supply Chain specialists are welcomed.
