SVA has closed its bursary in November, most recently 30 November 2025 for 2026.
VerifiedSVA International is an architecture and urban design practice in the GIBB engineering group, with offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Gqeberha. Its bursary backs young architects from disadvantaged backgrounds, especially through the postgraduate years that registration as an architect requires, and it is judged on a portfolio as well as marks.
About the SVA International Bursary

Eligibility requirements
- South African citizen under 35, from a previously disadvantaged background.

- For postgraduate funding: a bachelor’s or honours degree in architecture from a recognised South African institution, and enrolment or planned enrolment in a postgraduate architecture programme.
