The LGSETA Bursary falls under the Discretionary Grants programme, supporting the organization’s Annual Performance Plan and Strategic Plan goals.

It primarily targets full-time students enrolled at DHET-recognized institutions in qualifications aligned with the Sector Priority Occupations and Interventions (SPOI) List.

About the LGSETA Bursary

The LGSETA bursary covers tuition fees, prescribed textbooks, and a living allowance for full-time students registered at DHET-recognized institutions.

This financial support lifts the financial strain, allowing students to focus on their studies and contribute meaningfully to local government upon graduation.

The bursary awards vary depending on your study level:

  1. University/University of Technology students: Maximum R100,000 per year
  2. TVET College students: Maximum R70,000 per year

Remember, these are maximum amounts, and the actual award may be determined by several factors, including available funds and individual applicant merit.
