Transnet Bursary Application Form

Applications for the Transnet Bursary Programme are opened from the beginning of the year until the end of September for studies commencing in the following year.

The application process involves downloading and completing the Transnet Bursary Application Form, which can be found on the Transnet careers page. 

You must make sure you fill out the form clearly and in block letters. Also, you will need to submit certified copies of the following documents:

  1. Your South African ID document
  2. Your acceptance letter or proof of registration from your chosen tertiary institution
  3. Your Matric certificate (or recent academic records if you are a continuing student)
  4. A short CV

Incomplete applications will not be considered.  Submit your completed application form with the required supporting documents to Transnet by the closing date.

Transnet Bursary Requirements

To be eligible for the Transnet Bursary Programme, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be a South African citizen
  2. Have completed your Matric or be in your final year of Matric
  3. Be registered for or intend to register for full-time studies towards a qualification aligned with Transnet’s needs (see details below under Transnet Bursary Coverage) at a recognized South African tertiary institution
  4. Meet the specific academic requirements for your chosen field of study. These typically involve achieving a minimum of 60% (Level 5) in relevant subjects, including English, Mathematics, and Physical Science (for Engineering bursaries) or English and other relevant subjects depending on your chosen field (for Specialist Commercial bursaries).
