This tracking system is part of the UWC Student Portal where admission outcomes are displayed once the application is processed.

Applicants can view whether their application has been received, is under review, or whether an offer has been made.

The official portal to check your status is the UWC Application Status Portal.

UWC applications for the 2027 academic year will open on 01 April 2026 and applicants should complete their online forms before the closing date.

Once the university starts reviewing applications, status updates are made available in real‑time and applicants will also receive email notifications.

Checking your status regularly helps you act quickly if an offer is made or if additional documents are required.

How to Check Your UWC Application Status

You can track your UWC application status online using your application or identification details.

Follow these steps to view the latest update on your application.

  1. Visit the UWC Application Status Portal.
  2. On the portal homepage, click the Application Status button.
  3. Enter your South African ID number or passport number in the required field.
  4. Enter your UWC application number exactly as supplied in your application confirmation email.
  5. Click Submit to view your application status.

Once you submit these details, the portal will display the current status of your application including whether it is still being processed or if a decision has been made.

If you already received a student number, you may also log in to the UWC Student Portal using that number and your chosen password to check detailed application information and future registration options.

What Your Status Means

When you check your application status on the UWC portal, you will see various messages that show the stage of your application.

  1. Pending or Awaiting Final Decision

This means your application has been received and is still under consideration by UWC.

No final decision has yet been made.

  1. Min Req Met

This means you have met the minimum admission requirements for the programme you applied for.

It does not guarantee that an offer will be made because UWC selects based on space and competition.

  1. Offer Pending

This status means the university has prepared an offer for you to study.

You must log in to the portal to view and accept or decline this offer.

  1. Offer Accepted

This shows that you accepted the admission offer through the portal.

UWC will then provide further details about registration and next steps.

  1. Offer Declined

This means you chose not to accept the offer.

You may contact the university if you believe this was an error.

  1. Offer Expired

If you do not accept the offer within the timeframe given, UWC may withdraw it and show this status.

  1. Min Req Not Met/Declined

This means the application was unsuccessful because you did not meet requirements or sufficient space was not available for your programme.

Applicants should monitor email notifications as well because official admissions communication is also sent via email.

Troubleshooting Common Login Issues

Some applicants may experience problems when trying to access the UWC status portal.

Below are common issues and how to resolve them.

Incorrect application number

Make sure you enter the exact application number you received in your confirmation email.

Any errors in this number will prevent the status portal from finding your record.

Incorrect ID or passport number

Your personal identification must match exactly the details you entered in your application.

Mismatches will result in a login error.

Portal not loading

High traffic on the portal during peak application times may cause delays.

Refresh the page or try again later.

Status indicates no record found

If your application was submitted recently, it may take a few days before it appears in the portal.

Check again later or contact the Admissions Contact Centre for verification.

Email notifications not received

Check your spam or junk email folders.

Ensure the email address you used in your application is active and correctly typed.

Contact UWC for support

If login attempts continue to fail, contact the UWC Contact Centre for assistance.

Admissions staff can help verify your details and guide you through the process of resolving portal access problems.
