Founded in the same year by blind adventurer and motivational speaker Hein Wagner, the Hein Wagner Academy offers accredited courses specifically designed for visually impaired youth.

About the Absa Cybersecurity Academy Scholarship
The Absa Cybersecurity Academy Scholarship targets unemployed and disadvantaged youth, offering them a two-year program in Cape Town’s Worcester region.
This scholarship focuses on developing the following skills:
- Year 1: Students build a strong technical foundation, earning international certifications (A+, N+, and S+), alongside a national qualification and soft skill development.
- Year 2: Students learn Python coding, CCNA DevNet, and CCNA Cyber Operations, preparing them for careers as cybersecurity analysts upon graduation.
Absa’s scholarship program aligns with their strategy of fostering critical skills in South Africa.
The program covers the following expenses for selected students:
- Tuition fees
- Meals
- Travel costs
- Monthly stipend
- Accommodation
- Specialized learning technologies

Absa Cybersecurity Academy Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Absa Cybersecurity Academy Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Passed Matric or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 50% score in Matric English
- Visually impaired or blind
- Computer proficiency, including typing skills and screen reader experience
- Age range: 18-30 years old
- Previously disadvantaged background
- Not currently enrolled in an internship or leadership program
- Residency in Worcester/Cape Town or willingness to relocate
- Selection is based on academic performance and financial need.
