Adapt IT Bursary 2027, Requirements & Application

Adapt IT builds the software that runs universities, factories, hotels and utilities across South Africa, and its bursary funds the technology and business students it recruits from. It is limited to five universities and to black South African students from designated groups, and it runs on a short February window.

About the Adapt IT Bursary

  • Fields: business administration, business development, finance, information systems and software development.
  • Universities: the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Nelson Mandela University, the University of Johannesburg, the University of KwaZulu-Natal and the University of Limpopo.
  • Covers registration and tuition fees plus study materials, with a laptop or resource allowance in some rounds.
  • Levels: undergraduate and postgraduate.

Adapt IT Bursary eligibility requirements

  • Black South African citizen from a designated group as defined in the B-BBEE codes.
  • Matric with an average of at least 60%.
  • Studying full-time at one of the five listed universities.
  • Entering first, second, third or honours year.

How to apply for the Adapt IT Bursary

  1. Register on the Fundi BSP portal at bsp.fundi.co.za and open the Adapt IT bursary application.
  2. Upload a certified ID, a certified Matric certificate, your academic records, proof of registration or acceptance, a tuition fee statement and your parents’ or guardians’ income documents.
  3. Submit before the closing date. Only shortlisted applicants are contacted.
