VerifiedBSG is a South African consulting and technology firm, founded in 1997, that works on business and technology change projects for banks, insurers and retailers. Its bursary is unusual in two ways: it starts at third year rather than first, and it covers tuition only. In exchange, it puts strong technology students in front of a company that recruits from its own bursars.
About the BSG Bursary

- Universities: Wits, Rhodes, UCT, the University of Pretoria, the University of Johannesburg, UKZN and UWC.
- Covers tuition fees only; accommodation, books and living costs are not included.
BSG Bursary eligibility requirements
- South African citizen with above-average Matric results.
- Enrolled, or accepted, for full-time third-year or honours study in an eligible field at a qualifying university.
- A strong and improving academic record.
- Demonstrated financial need.
How to apply for the BSG Bursary
- Open the bursary page at bsg.co.za and complete the online application.
- Upload a CV, a “Why you? Why BSG?” letter covering your leadership and community involvement, a certified ID and recent photograph, certified Matric results, a full academic transcript on your university’s letterhead, formal confirmation of your fees and proof of address.
- Submit before the closing date. Shortlisted students are interviewed by the firm.
