About the Altech Bursary

The Altech Bursary provides financial support to students enrolled in their second, third, or fourth year of undergraduate studies at a South African university (excluding Universities of Technology/Technikons).

The bursary covers a range of expenses, including:

  1. Registration fees
  2. Tuition fees
  3. Prescribed textbooks
  4. Accommodation in residence (or an equivalent amount for off-campus housing)

However, receiving the Altech Bursary comes with a commitment.

Recipients are required to participate in a vocational work experience program for a minimum of six weeks per year while studying.

Furthermore, upon completion of their studies, bursary holders are expected to work for Altech for a period equivalent to the duration of the bursary award.

Altech Bursary Eligibility Criteria

  2. Enrolled in the second, third, or fourth year of undergraduate studies at a South African university (excluding Universities of Technology/Technikons)
  3. Pursuing a degree in one of the following fields:

    • Electrical Engineering
    • Electronic Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Industrial Engineering  
  4. Possessing a strong academic record
