CEF SOC Ltd, the Central Energy Fund, is the state-owned group behind PetroSA, the Strategic Fuel Fund, iGas and SANEDI. Its external bursary programme funds young South Africans from designated groups through the science, engineering and commercial qualifications the energy sector needs, and it runs on a mid-year to November cycle.

CEF Bursary eligibility requirements
- South African citizen aged 16 to 25.
- From a designated group as defined in the employment equity legislation.
- Completed Matric and registered, or accepted, at an accredited South African tertiary institution.
- Studying towards a qualification in one of the funded fields, with financial need.
How to apply for the CEF Bursary
- Open the bursaries tab under careers at cefgroup.co.za and follow the link to the recruitment portal.
- Combine the completed application form with certified copies of your ID, Matric certificate, academic records, proof of registration, your parents’ or guardians’ IDs, proof of their income and proof of residential address into a single document.
- Upload it on the CV tab of the online application and submit before the closing date. Late applications are not accepted.
