The ClubX Magazine bursary offers monthly tuition support (R20 000 per award) to students or subscribers of ClubX Magazine (TFG) studying via selected part-time or correspondence programmes.Β 

Applications are open throughout the year, and bursaries are awarded to the first qualifying applicants each month.

About the ClubX Magazine

ClubX Magazine is a monthly publication owned by The Foschini Group (TFG). 

In partnership with EDUCOR, it runs a bursary programme to support subscribers or immediate family of subscribers who need help with tertiary tuition, especially in part-time or correspondence learning contexts.

Fields of Study Funded

  • Part-time and correspondence programmes only.
  • At any of the following institutions: Damelin (face-to-face, correspondence), Intec College, Central Technical College, ICESA Education (KwaZulu-Natal), City Varsity.

Benefits for Recipients

  1. Covers tuition fees only; the bursary does not cover costs like textbooks, accommodation, or exam rewrite fees.
  2. The amount is R20,000 per award per month, with up to 12 awards each month (to the first qualifying applicants. β€œFirst-come, first-served” basis).
  3. Must begin the programme within six months of receiving the bursary.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, you must satisfy all of the following:

  1. Be a South African citizen.
  2. Be a current subscriber of ClubX Magazine or have an immediate family member (mother, father, spouse, child, sibling, grandchild) who is.
  3. Your subscription must be up to date (no arrears).
  4. Your TFG account (if any) must not be in arrears.
  5. Be enrolled (or planning to enrol) at one of the eligible institutions listed above, in a part-time or correspondence programme.
  6. Have not received a ClubX / TFG Club bursary in the past 36 months.

How to Apply

  1. Go to the ClubX or TFG Club Magazine bursary page online to complete the application form.
  2. Provide personal details: full name, ID number, contact info, address.
  3. Provide education details: your current or intended programme, year of study, institution.
  4. Supply subscriber/member details: account number, relationship to subscriber if you are not the subscriber.
  5. Attach required documents: certified copy of ID, academic record (Matric or higher), motivational letter.

Required Documents

  1. Certified copy of your South African ID.
  2. Academic transcripts: Matric certificate or most recent results.
  3. Proof of subscriber or account holder’s ID if you are applying via an immediate family member.
  4. Motivational essay/letter.
  5. Details of institution and programme, and banking details of the institution.

Closing Date

There is no fixed closing date; applications are open throughout the year.

Bursaries are distributed monthly; funding is only available to the first 12 qualifying applicants who apply each month.
