Gold One Bursary Eligibility Requirements
- Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen.
- Residence (for external): Must reside in the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (e.g. Springs, Benoni, Brakpan, Nigel).
- Academic status: Must be in Matric or have completed Matric.
- Tertiary acceptance: Must be registered or accepted at a recognised South African tertiary institution.
- Fields of study: Eligible fields include:
- Mining Engineering
- Geological & Earth Sciences
- Mechanical Engineering
- Metallurgical Science
- Financial Studies
- Other fields may be considered for internal applicants
- Financial need: Must demonstrate financial need.
- Preference: Given to students from mine-hosting communities (Springs, Brakpan, Benoni, Nigel).
- Internal applicants: Must be permanent Gold One employees or direct dependents.
- Document certification: Supporting documents must be SAPS-certified.
Gold One Bursary Application Process
- Apply via the online bursary portal specified by Gold One.
- Prepare and upload the following as certified PDF documents:
- South African ID document.
- Proof of tertiary registration or acceptance.
- Formal quotations for study costs (tuition, books etc.).
- Proof of household income (payslips, affidavits, grant proof).
- Proof of residence (for external applicants).
- Internal applicants also submit a special internal form (from Gold One’s Time & Attendance).
- Make sure all uploaded files are in PDF format only.
- Submit the full application before the closing date.
- Shortlisted applicants may undergo further screening (such as interviews or checks).
- If selected, you will sign a bursary agreement with Gold One.
