About the research for this page
Momentum Group’s website blocked BursariesAfrica’s research tools on 15 September 2026, so this profile draws on a provider record checked in August 2026 and BursariesAfrica’s own research into Momentum’s 2027 bursaries. Readers should confirm the details on Momentum’s careers pages, which a normal web browser can open.
Two Momentum bursaries, two calendars
Students often think of Momentum as one bursary, but the group has run two programmes on different schedules. The Momentum Group actuarial science bursary for 2027 closed on 31 August 2026. The Momentum Investments bursary follows a later calendar: the 2026 round closed on 31 October 2025, and Momentum had not published the 2027 call when BursariesAfrica checked.
If Momentum Investments keeps a similar timetable, the 2027 call could close in late October 2026. Treat that as a planning estimate rather than a confirmed date.
Why the name change matters
Many older adverts still say Momentum Metropolitan. The group now trades as Momentum Group, so search for both names when looking for past bursary information, and be careful with any advert that uses the old name but asks you to apply outside Momentum’s official careers portal.
Doing your own research
Momentum publishes financial results and integrated reports for investors, and those reports describe the group’s businesses in detail. Reading the sections on Momentum Investments or the group’s life insurance business helps an actuarial or finance applicant explain which part of Momentum interests them. Ask Momentum’s recruitment team whether each bursary includes vacation work and a commitment to join the group after graduating, because the two programmes may differ.
Students aiming for actuarial careers should apply to several insurers at once, because actuarial bursaries set very high Mathematics requirements and take only small numbers of students.
