Southern Farms grows export table grapes and dates on the Orange River in the Northern Cape. Its bursary funds senior agriculture students from disadvantaged backgrounds and brings them to the farm for the harvest.

About the Southern Farms Bursary

  • Fields: agricultural economics, production and management, food production systems, and plant and soil science.
  • Covers registration, tuition, textbooks, accommodation and meals.
  • December vacation work during the grape harvest.

Eligibility requirements

  • South African citizen aged 19 to 25.
  • From a previously disadvantaged group; preference for black students and people with disabilities.
  • In second or third year of full-time agricultural studies.
  • At an accredited South African institution.

  2. Attach certified copies of your ID, Matric certificate, academic records, fee statement and household income.
  3. Email it to enigma@southerncrossmm.co.za before the closing date.
