- Have achieved a first-class distinction (minimum 75%) in your final year of your Honours degree (or equivalent)
- Demonstrate strong research potential and alignment with the scholarship’s themes (African Cultural Studies, The Anthropocene and/or Ecocriticism, Identity, Gender and/or Queer Studies)
- Be able to commence your studies at Stellenbosch University in the specified semester
