Tiger Brands is South Africa’s largest food producer, the company behind Koo, Tastic, Albany, Jungle Oats, All Gold and Oros. Its graduate bursary funds university students from second year to graduation in the engineering, food science, supply chain, finance and IT fields the company recruits from, and links to its Future Leaders Development Programme for graduates.

About the Tiger Brands Bursary

The bursary is unusual in that it funds students only from second year onwards. Applicants must have completed at least six months at university so that Tiger Brands can see university results. It covers:

100% of prescribed tuition, registration and examination fees.
A textbook allowance.
A monthly stipend.
Vacation work at Tiger Brands’ operations and consideration for the 24-month Future Leaders Development Programme after graduation.

Tiger Brands Bursary eligibility requirements

South African citizen.
Enrolled for at least six months at a recognised South African university in one of the fields above.
An average of at least 65% in Matric and at least 65% in the first semester of first year.
Strong results in pure Mathematics, Accounting or Science.
Demonstrated financial need and academic potential.

How to apply for the Tiger Brands Bursary

Between 22 September and 22 October, gather certified copies of: your ID; your Matric certificate; your first-semester academic transcript; and your parents’ or guardians’ proof of income, or a certified affidavit if they are unemployed.
Email the documents with a short covering note giving your degree, university and year of study to graduatebursaries@tigerbrands.com.
Shortlisted students are interviewed before awards are confirmed for the following academic year.
