The Tiger Brands careers portal lists the FLDP TOPP Programme for trainee chartered accountants with an end date of 1 October 2026; no general FLDP intake was advertised on 29 September 2026.
Tiger Brands, the food and household goods group with businesses in culinary, snacks, treats and beverages, home and personal care and grains, calls its Future Leaders Development Programme (FLDP) its premier graduate programme. The only FLDP intake advertised on the Tiger Brands careers portal at the end of September 2026 is the finance stream, known as the TOPP Programme, for graduates who want to complete a SAICA training contract. Its advert closes on 1 October 2026.
This page is about the graduate programme and the other work-based routes on Tiger Brands’ Young Talent page. Students who still need funding for a degree should read our Tiger Brands bursary page instead.
A 24-month rotation across the business
Tiger Brands describes the FLDP as “an intensive, structured 24-month rotational programme” meant to develop exceptional graduates into future business leaders, with cross-functional exposure and responsibility from the first day. That is all the Young Talent page says about the general programme. Tiger Brands does not publish the functions graduates rotate through, the salary, the entry requirements or a fixed annual intake date, and notes that programmes and intakes “vary by business unit and current organisational need”.
The TOPP Programme for trainee chartered accountants
The current advert on the Tiger Brands careers portal is titled “Tiger Brands Future Leaders Development Programme: TOPP Programme”. Unlike the 24-month description above, TOPP runs for 36 months, the length of a full SAICA training contract. The advert is listed under Bryanston, where Tiger Brands says its corporate head office is, and trainees rotate between Tiger Brands sites in Gauteng according to individual rotation plans, with visits to other provinces when their work requires it. The advert lists these disciplines:
- internal audit;
- governance and assurance;
- financial accounting;
- data analytics;
- management reporting.
Top performers may also be exposed to corporate finance (including mergers and acquisitions), treasury, and legal and secretarial work. Tiger Brands offers board course support, study leave, mentoring by a qualified chartered accountant and by senior finance executives, and a junior leadership course.
Who can apply for TOPP
Applicants need a SAICA-accredited Postgraduate Certificate in the Theory of Accounting (CTA) or Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (PGDA), must want to complete the full 36-month training contract, and must be writing the SAICA Initial Test of Competence (ITC) in January. The minimum requirements in the advert are a 65% academic average, citizenship of the country of hire, recent graduation from a South African tertiary institution, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Tiger Brands says a personal vehicle is “highly desirable” because of the site rotations. Attach your CV, matric certificate, ID, academic transcripts and, if you have one, your driver’s licence.
The TOPP advert was posted on 15 July 2026 and the portal shows an end date of 1 October 2026. Accounting students earlier in their studies can compare funders on our chartered accountant bursaries list.
Workplace experience, internships and learnerships
Tiger Brands’ Young Talent page describes three shorter routes, each advertised separately when a business unit needs people:
| Programme | Length | For whom |
|---|---|---|
| Workplace experience (WES) | 3 to 12 months | Students who need practical time to complete a qualification, such as a National Diploma |
| Internships | Shorter-term, project-based | Graduates wanting depth in a core function such as marketing, R&D or finance |
| Learnerships | 12 to 18 months | People seeking a recognised qualification through combined theory and on-the-job training |
On 29 September 2026 the careers portal carried three workplace experience student posts, in Germiston, Pretoria (risk) and a laboratory role in Roodekop, and no learnership adverts. All Tiger Brands vacancies, including these programmes, are listed on the same portal. For everything else Tiger Brands funds, see the Tiger Brands provider profile.
