Vergenoeg Mining Company is South Africa’s leading producer of fluorspar, a mineral used in chemicals and steelmaking. Its external bursary programme funds engineering and science students, with priority for young people from the communities around the mine.

Eligibility requirements
- South African citizen or permanent resident.
- Studying at a recognised South African university or university of technology.
- At least 60% for all subjects in the current academic year.
- Not receiving another bursary for the same period; priority for Vergenoeg and surrounding communities.
