The 2027 round closed on 31 August 2026, with shortlisted candidates notified within four weeks.
Dube TradePort is the KwaZulu-Natal government’s aerotropolis around King Shaka International Airport, combining a cargo terminal, an agrizone growing high-value crops for export and a technology and business park. Its bursary funds KwaZulu-Natal students in the four fields that zone employs, and it deliberately targets students who earn too much for NSFAS but not enough to pay their own way.
About the Dube TradePort Bursary
- Fields: engineering studies, agricultural studies with a crops and plants focus, information technology studies and built environment studies.
- Universities: the Durban University of Technology, Mangosuthu University of Technology, the University of KwaZulu-Natal and the University of Zululand.
- Covers tuition and study costs, with the package set per student.
Dube TradePort Bursary eligibility requirements
- South African citizen living in KwaZulu-Natal, aged 18 to 34.
- In first to fourth year at one of the four listed institutions.
- Strong academic results and demonstrated financial need.
- You must not qualify for NSFAS. The bursary is for students just above the NSFAS threshold.
How to apply for the Dube TradePort Bursary
- Find the opportunity on the SA Youth portal at sayouth.mobi when the round opens.
- Upload copies of your ID and Matric certificate, current academic records and proof of enrolment, university tuition fee statements, your course curriculum details and your parents’ or guardians’ proof of income or an unemployment affidavit.
- Submit before the closing date. Shortlisted candidates are notified within four weeks.
Dube TradePort Bursary closing date
31 August 2026 for the 2027 academic year (closed). Expect the end of August 2027 for 2028.
