ITHUBA has run South Africa’s National Lottery since 2015. Its bursary is one of the more generous in commerce and IT, covering tuition, accommodation, a stipend and technology for top students from low-income homes.

ITHUBA Bursary eligibility requirements
- South African citizen in Matric or with Matric.
- At least 70% overall and in each subject in your latest results.
- From a previously disadvantaged background.
- Household income of no more than R350 000 a year.
How to apply for the ITHUBA Bursary
- Create an account on ITHUBA’s application portal when a round opens.
- Upload a certified ID, Matric results, transcripts, proof of admission and accommodation, parents’ documents, proof of household income and a motivation letter.
- Submit before the closing date.
