Pan African Resources wholly owns Barberton Mines. Pan African Resources describes itself as a progressive mid-tier gold producer in the FTSE 250 and is now listed on three exchanges: the JSE, the London Stock Exchange and the Australian Securities Exchange. Pan African Resources combines low-cost surface mining with high-grade underground mines across its South African and Australian operations.

Pan African Resources published audited annual results for the year ended 30 June 2026 and scheduled a results presentation for 18 September 2026. Its half-year results described a period of growth delivered across South Africa and Australia, which suggests a business expanding rather than cutting back.

Barberton Mines’ bursary for 2027 closed on 31 August 2026, and Barberton Mines does not accept late applications. BursariesAfrica expects the 2028 round to open in July 2027 and close at the end of August 2027.

Underground gold mining at depth needs mining engineers, geologists, metallurgists, surveyors and safety specialists, so mining-related students form the natural audience for the bursary.
