Implats and a low-carbon future
Implats links platinum to decarbonisation. Implats says the world faces an urgent challenge to cut emissions, and that platinum-catalysed fuel cells offer growing opportunities for zero-emission energy in electricity and transport. For science and engineering students, that argument places platinum mining inside the energy transition rather than outside it.
Housing and living conditions
Implats identifies employee accommodation and living conditions as key strategic issues for the wellbeing of employees and host communities in South Africa and Zimbabwe. Read the operational review in Implats’ latest annual results and note which operation interests you, such as the large Rustenburg complex in North West. Ask Implats’ recruitment team whether a bursary round will open for 2027, how long the work-back period lasts, and whether bursars from host communities receive preference.
