What Power builds

Power describes its work in human terms: it connects people by building bridges, roads, airport runways and townships, enhances lives with schools, homes and medical facilities, and creates recreational spaces through film studios, golf estates and shopping centres. Power also builds agricultural and commercial structures, and energy infrastructure, including several South African wind farms, according to a provider record checked in August 2026.

Power’s regional offices include Cape Town, Gqeberha, Centurion and Swakopmund in Namibia. Power’s purpose is to improve the quality of life in Africa through infrastructure development, and its vision is to be the supplier of choice for civil, building, mining, engineering management and property development services.

Unashamedly Ethical

Graham Power, the group’s founder and chairman, leads the Unashamedly Ethical initiative, which challenges individuals and businesses worldwide to sign a pledge to be ethical in all their dealings. Power says its own culture rests on empowerment, integrity and accountability, values that matter in an industry often associated with tender corruption.

Two bursary routes

Power Construction runs a localised bursary for civil engineering students from a small number of Western Cape towns near its project footprint, alongside a broader bursary and learnership offering for university and university of technology students advertised through its careers portal, according to the provider record. BursariesAfrica’s older guide mentions civil engineering and quantity surveying degrees, with tuition, registration and residence fees covered, but has not been refreshed with verified 2027 dates.

How to research Power Construction

Check the careers portal on Power Group’s website, and ask Power’s Cape Town office which towns the localised bursary serves and when it opens. Read about Power’s wind farm and airport projects so you can talk about them in an interview. Civil engineering diploma students should also ask about in-service training on Power sites.
