VerifiedTotalEnergies Marketing South Africa is the South African marketing and distribution arm of TotalEnergies, the global energy company headquartered in France. The company, known as Total until the group renamed itself TotalEnergies in 2021, supplies fuel, lubricants, liquefied petroleum gas and related products through service stations and to commercial and industrial customers, from its head office in Rosebank, Johannesburg, according to a provider record checked in August 2026.

From fuel to broader energy
The name change from Total to TotalEnergies reflected the group’s strategy of moving beyond oil and gas into a broader mix of energy, including renewables and electricity. TotalEnergies South Africa’s website shows that shift: alongside premium diesel, TotalEnergies promotes solar solutions designed to lower businesses’ energy costs and carbon dioxide emissions, and energy solutions built for the realities of farming.

Why TotalEnergies funds students
The energy sector needs engineers, technicians and scientists, and fuel marketers also rely on finance, legal and logistics professionals. TotalEnergies South Africa operates under South Africa’s downstream petroleum regulations and B-BBEE framework, which reward investment in skills for previously disadvantaged people.
Bursaries and graduate routes
TotalEnergies South Africa frames its bursary programme as youth development and transformation support for previously disadvantaged students in engineering, finance, law, social sciences and other fields relevant to its business. BursariesAfrica’s earlier guide describes up to ten bursaries a year covering tuition, books, stationery and accommodation, for applicants aged 18 to 23 with a university exemption or third-year students with at least 65%.
Since 2010 TotalEnergies has also run scholarship partnerships with universities such as the University of the Witwatersrand, covering tuition and textbooks for selected students. TotalEnergies runs a Young Graduate Engineering Programme and a 12-month workplace internship for unemployed graduates in scarce and critical skills. Public material emphasises employability rather than guaranteed jobs and sets out no binding work-back.
