Railways, roads and pipelines

WK Construction says it has played a major role in building South Africa’s railways, roads and pipelines. WK’s market offering covers pipeline construction, trenchless technology, township roads and infrastructure, general roads and earthworks, concrete structures, and crushing and screening. WK’s project references include the Vaal River Eastern Sub-system Augmentation Project (VRESAP), a large pipeline that carries water to Eskom and Sasol facilities in Mpumalanga.

Pipes of every size

WK Construction has built pipelines ranging from 100 mm to 3 000 mm in diameter, in steel, concrete, glass fibre reinforced polyester, fibre cement, PVC, HDPE and ductile iron.

WK acquired Jacked Pipelines, which it describes as the leading exponent of trenchless construction in Southern Africa. Trenchless technology installs pipes underground without digging long open trenches, minimising disruption to roads, railways and other services. WK has installed many kilometres of pipeline this way in ground from soft sand to hard rock requiring blasting, and has developed its own equipment.

WK does not publish a work-back period, so confirm terms before signing.
