The South African Council for Planners regulates the town and regional planning profession, and its bursary is aimed at growing that profession’s numbers. It funds students on accredited planning programmes, undergraduate and postgraduate, and renews each year until they finish.

About the SACPLAN Bursary

For undergraduate and postgraduate students on accredited planning programmes.
Covers tuition fees at minimum, and possibly costs such as accommodation, with the amount set by SACPLAN.
Renewable each year on progress until the qualification is complete.

How to apply for the SACPLAN Bursary

Download the application form from sacplan.org.za when the advert appears.
Attach a certified Matric certificate, your acceptance letter or proof of registration, a certified transcript if already studying, a certified ID no older than six months, a one to two-page motivation, two recommendation letters, a CV if applicable, and statements of tuition and any additional costs for the year.
Email everything to the address in the advert (lhlongwa@sacplan.co.za in the last call) or hand-deliver it to SACPLAN, International Business Gateway Office Park, Block G, 1st Floor, Midridge, Midrand, before the closing date.

SACPLAN advertises mid-year for the following academic year; its last published advert closed on 16 August 2024, with unsuccessful applicants to assume no award if they heard nothing by 31 January. 2. What is SACPLAN? +

The South African Council for Planners, the statutory body that regulates the planning profession under the Planning Profession Act of 2002.

3. What does it cover? +
