Siza Water is the private water and sanitation concessionaire for the Dolphin Coast in KwaZulu-Natal, serving Ballito and the towns between Etete and Zimbali. Like its sister utility Silulumanzi in Mbombela, it funds young people from its concession area to study the engineering, environmental and trade skills it needs.

About the Siza Water Bursary

The bursary funds full-time study at accredited South African institutions in:

Chemical, civil, electrical and mechanical engineering.
Environmental management, and town and regional planning.
Financial management.
Trades: electrician, fitter, millwright and plumber.
Water and sewer treatment process control.

It covers tuition and related study costs, with vacation work at Siza Water’s plants, and is renewed each year on results.

Siza Water Bursary eligibility requirements

South African citizen aged 21 or younger.
Living in Siza Water’s concession area on the Dolphin Coast, between Etete and Zimbali.
In Matric, or have completed Matric, with an average of at least 65% overall and at least 65% in the subject related to the chosen field.
Studying, or accepted, for full-time study at an accredited South African institution.
Household income of no more than R15 000 a month.
Preference for Black and female applicants.

How to apply for the Siza Water Bursary

Collect the application form from Siza Water’s offices or download it from sizawater.com when the advert is published.
Attach certified copies of: your ID; your Grade 11 and Matric results; your current results if already studying; proof of acceptance for the year; three months of your parents’ payslips or an affidavit of unemployment; an income and expense statement; death or divorce certificates if applicable; proof of disability if applicable; and proof of residence from your ward councillor.
Hand-deliver the application to Reypark House, Rey’s Place, Avondale, Ballito, or post it to PO Box 1635, Ballito, 4420, before the closing date.
