Bergrivier Municipality Bursary | Application Form, Eligibility Requirement and Closing Date

The Bergrivier Municipality Bursary is offered to encourage the young people who live within the Bergrivier Municipality borders to pursue higher education.

This bursary program supports financially disadvantaged students who want to pursue full-time studies towards their first degree or National Diploma at an accredited South African institution.

The bursary covers several crucial expenses, including:

  2. Tuition fees
  3. Examination fees
  4. Prescribed study materials
  5. Accommodation costs (subject to specific terms and conditions)

Application Form for the Bergrivier Municipality Bursary

Interested students can download the Bergrivier Municipality Bursary application form from the municipality’s website or collect a hard copy from the Human Resource Services Department in Piketberg.

Remember, incomplete applications will not be considered, so ensure you provide all the necessary documentation.

The documents usually requested include:

  1. Certified copy of your South African ID document
  2. Certified copy of your Matric result or Matric certificate
  3. Complete academic record with latest results on the institution’s letterhead
  4. Proof of residential address within the Bergrivier Municipal area

All applications must be marked “Application for External Study Bursary”, for the attention of Mr. D Boumeester (Human Resource Officer: Training and Development).

Do not send your application through email or fax because they will NOT be accepted.

Bergrivier Municipality Bursary Eligibility Requirements

There are always hundreds of other bursary applicants like you. If you want to be considered, you must first meet the following criteria:

  1. Be a South African citizen with a valid ID number
  2. Be a permanent resident of the Bergrivier Municipal area
  3. Be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
  4. Be studying or intending to study towards your first Degree or National Diploma at an accredited South African institution
  5. Meet the entry requirements of the chosen institution
  6. Fall within the age group of 18-35 years (preference given)
  7. Have passed all previous years of your study (if applicable)

The Bergrivier Municipality Bursary application window closes annually on 27 October at 15:00 (South African Standard Time).
